DIALING IT DOWN: London-based jeweler Vicki Sarge is lightening up her act with a new collection called Essentials. “The jewelry is smaller, deconstructed but beautiful. It’s a move away from the too statement-y, and there are no colors. A boyfriend can buy it for a girl — it’s easy,” said Sarge, who will be wholesaling all of the new collections from her Elizabeth Street shop during London Fashion Week, which starts today.
Famous for her colored and ornate statement jewelry and dramatic runway and editorial pieces — she’s doing the jewelry for Erdem’s show this season — Sarge has created a further four collections for fall: Illumination, done in rose gold; Sylvia, with a Forties feel; Millicent, inspired by the colors of Arizona; and Virginia, with an antique look. In the U.S., Sarge’s collections sell at stores including Linda Dresner, Capitol Charlotte in North Carolina, and Elyse Walker in California.
