A STEP FORWARD: Vince will launch men’s footwear in July. Under a licensing agreement with Brown Shoe, the first men’s footwear collection from the American contemporary brand will be sold in retailers like Neiman Marcus, Bloomingdale’s and Nordstrom, all of which currently carry Vince’s women’s footwear line, which was launched in 2012.
“We saw a void in the marketplace,” said Jill Granoff, chief executive officer for the brand. “There aren’t many advanced men’s contemporary lines out there. What we are doing with our luxe essentials, we are bringing into footwear.”
The initiative was one year in the making, said Rebecca Damavandi, group president of global business development of Vince, and was a conscious effort to elevate Vince into a lifestyle brand.
The styles will include an embossed leather sneaker, shearling-lined boots, and a selection of sport-inspired styles, which will range from $225 to $550. Each of the shoes will come in Italian full-grain leathers, suede and nubuck and will come in colors like cherry, coastal blue, olive, black, and the brand’s signature heather gray.
