VIVIENNE IS ASSANGE: Vivienne Westwood paid a visit to Julian Assange at the Ecuadorian Embassy in London on Wednesday to show her support for the WikiLeaks founder.

A spokesperson for the activist designer confirmed the visit, saying that Westwood is selling T-shirts “in aid of the cause”, and directed WWD to ActiveResistance.co.uk, Westwood’s blog, called Get a Life.

In a blog entry entitled “I Am Julian Assange” that was posted on Thursday, Westwood writes, “T-shirts for Julian: you can show your support of a real hero by going toviviennewestwood.com. Available from Saturday, 3 November. Donations to Wikileaks have been blocked but 100% of T-shirt profits can help fund their work.”

Assange has been living at the Embassy since the summer, avoiding extradition to Sweden, where he is wanted for questioning over sex offenses.
