Vogue Italia Sponsors Talent Search for Up-And-Coming Designers

CREATIVE ACCOUNTING: Gucci creative director Frida Giannini and Alberta Ferretti were among those who took in the Vogue Italia-sponsored “Who Is On Next” talent search on Thursday night, where a total of 25 up-and-coming designers displayed their wares. Asked which traits she believes make a promising new designer, Ferretti enthused: “It’s all about the creativity, the freedom to dream, the energy. …If it’s too commercial, its boring.”

Eva Cavalli, Silvia Venturini Fendi, Rossella Jardini, Antonio Marras, Cesare Paciotti, Tommaso Aquilano and Roberto Rimondi, Alessandro Dell’Acqua, Silvia Damiani, Luisa Beccaria, Remo Ruffini and Michele Norsa were among other designers and executives in attendance. Matteo Marzotto, looking crisp and cool in a brown double-breasted suit amid the hot, crowded party, peeled back one cuff to show his secret: It was unlined. “Marzotto,” he purred.
