VUITTON’S ARTS INITIATIVE: “For us, art it is not only one direction, it is very broad, it is 360 degrees,” said Valérie Chapoulaud-Floquet, president and chief executive officer of Louis Vuitton NA. “We always continue it and we embrace it very naturally. It’s really a part of our daily life.”
Chapoulaud-Floquet’s comments came at a reception the brand hosted Tuesday night with the President’s Committee on the Arts & Humanities at the U.S. Institute for Peace that honored programs that have fostered the creative and intellectual development of children across the country through education and hands-on experience in the arts and humanities. In a new partnership with the PCAH and as the primary corporate sponsor of the 2011 National Arts & Humanities Youth Program, Vuitton is delving further into bringing the arts to underserved communities.

“Louis Vuitton is involved in art and culture in different ways. One of the ways is education,” said Chapoulaud-Floquet. “First, it is to promote art education in the United States and we consider that we found our way with PCAH to make a difference because they promote art in different ways. The idea is to partner together in order to give it more awareness and visibility in the U.S.”
To engage arts, educational and civic leaders, Louis Vuitton NA has also committed to hosting a series of conversations on arts education in conjunction with the PCAH in several U.S. cities, starting next spring with events in New York and San Francisco.
