WORKIN’ GIRL: Having secured a sit-down interview with US Airways’ most sought-after pilot Chesley “Sully” Sullenberger, Katie Couric is now getting ready to face another runway matter — modeling in a fashion show. She will be among the celebrities who will take to the catwalk in the Feb. 13 Heart Truth Red Dress Collection in Bryant Park. The CBS news anchor will wear a Carmen Marc Valvo dress, but she won’t be the only Boomer strutting her stuff. Lynda “Wonder Woman” Carter will don a Carolina Herrera design, and Valerie Bertinelli will go with a Christian Siriano number. Long lost “90210” classmates Jennie Garth and Tori Spelling will reunite for Badgley Mischka and Betsey Johnson, respectively. Hilary Duff, Olympian Nastia Liukin and “Dancing With the Stars” Samantha Harris help round out the runway show cast. The show’s real get would be First Lady Michelle Obama, who has yet to RSVP, according to show organizers.

WHOLLY TOLEDO: Last month’s inauguration quickly came and went, but Isabel Toledo is still dealing with the aftermath of suiting up Michelle Obama or, as Toledo’s husband Ruben calls it, “Obamathon.” The designer has been barraged with interview and photo requests. Ditto for the Kent State Museum, which houses the largest online stash of images of her work that are remnants of an exhibition housed there in 2000. Museum curator Anne Bissonnette said Wednesday she spends half of each work day dealing with media requests. But it isn’t all for naught. The Toledos will be at the Kent, Ohio, campus Feb. 19 to speak with students, NPR and a handful of other media outlets. The design duo had to scrap plans to visit last fall and rescheduled for this month. “I’m so glad it’s happening now instead,” Bissonnette said. The Museum at FIT is another unexpected beneficiary of Toledo’s media windfall. An exhibition of her work goes up June 16.
ISLAND LIFE: After an inclement British winter, it’s no wonder that Bamford has chosen the balmy climes of Barbados as the location for its latest boutique, which officially opened last week. The brand’s founder Lady Bamford — who has a home on the island — has chosen wares such as white kaftans, straw hats, beach blankets and Bamford’s organic bath and body products to sell at the store, which is housed in a dove gray Barbadian chattel house. The store, called Barefoot on the Beach, is located in the St. James area on the island’s west coast.
MEN’S ROOM: Emanuel Ungaro’s Avenue Montaigne flagship is making room for the Ungaro man. Men’s wear designed by Franck Boclet, which once occupied only a smidgen of floor space, now occupies nearly half the 3,300-square-foot boutique. And coming soon is a new bespoke service.
T-TIME: Kitsuné, the hip Paris fashion brand that also operates a music label, has collaborated with traditional French clothing brand Petit Bateau on a unisex T-shirt, available in white and gray. The garment will launch at Colette on Feb. 20 followed by an after-party at Paris’ La Maroquinerie venue, with La Roux, We Have Band and Two Door Cinema Club among DJs lined up to entertain.
