SALON SOCIETY: Fashion renegade Walter Van Beirendonck, who shuttered his avant-garde Walter store in Antwerp, Belgium, last year, said he’s back with a new retail venture with fellow Belgian designer Dirk Van Saene. “It’s not as conceptual. It’s really a salon feeling,” Van Beirendock said as he made his way into Veronique Branquinho’s show in Paris on Tuesday.

Located above the luxury shoe destination Coccodrillo on Schuttershofstraat, the three-room boutique, under the banner DVS, is appointed with furniture by Dutch designer Maarten Baas, and carries a range of collections for women and men by Belgian designers, including his, Van Saene’s and Branquinho’s.

Van Beirendonck is also working a trio of exhibitions, including one slated to open in April at the The Dallas Contemporary. The other two are in Antwerp to mark the 350th anniversary of the Royal Academy of Fine Arts, and the 50th anniversary of its fashion department.
