WESTON MOVES UP: Alannah Weston, currently creative director of the British department store group Selfridges & Co., has been named deputy chairman at the store’s parent company Selfridges Group, the company said Tuesday.
The position, a new role at the firm, will see Weston “provide strategic advice and creative counsel across [the group’s] growing international portfolio of destination stores,” the firm said. Selfridges Group’s stores include the Selfridges & Co. chain in the U.K., Brown Thomas in Ireland, Holt Renfrew in Canada and De Bijenkorf in the Netherlands. Weston will report to Galen Weston, her father and the owner and chairman of Selfridges Group.

Weston has served as creative director of Selfridges since 2004. The company said that she had been “instrumental in bringing world-class creative thinking and retail innovation to Selfridges & Co.”
Linda Hewson, currently director of creative and windows at Selfridges & Co., will replace Weston as creative director of the department store chain, and she will report to Anne Pitcher, U.K. managing director at Selfridges & Co.
