WICHSER REJOINS NARCISO: Robert J. Wichser has rejoined Narciso Rodriguez as chief executive officer, following his departure from the ceo role at John Varvatos in May. Wichser was a consultant and de facto ceo at Narciso Rodriguez prior to joining John Varvatos in September 2011. He was tapped by Varvatos to help prepare and package a sale of the company, successfully completing that mandate when Lion Capital acquired a controlling stake in Varvatos from VF Corp. in April. With Wichser’s exit from Varvatos, founder and chairman John Varvatos has assumed the ceo role there, but an executive search has begun for a permanent ceo, said Varvatos.
“He’s done terrific things here and we have a great working and personal relationship,” said Narciso Rodriguez of Wichser’s return to his company. “He’s helped launch shoes and handbags and put a great strategy in place.” Unlike at Varvatos, Rodriguez said Wichser is not there to help orchestrate a potential sale. “He’s here to run the company,” said the designer.
