THE SHOE FITS: Two British heritage men’s wear names are joining forces as the apparel label Wolsey has partnered with the English shoemakers Tricker’s to create a special edition golf shoe. It’s the first time Tricker’s has produced an off-the-peg golf shoe, as the firm previously only offered bespoke models. The white leather shoes are designed with calf leather uppers and linings, along with a leather insole in Wolsey’s signature red and a stitched leather outsole. The shoes, which will retail for 390 pounds, or around $660, will be sold at Wolsey.com and TrendyGolf.com beginning in May, while the design will launch at specialty stores in July. The shoe collaboration follows the launch of Wolsey’s performance activewear collection for fall 2014, which includes golfwear. Jamey Hargreaves, chairman and creative director at Wolsey, said the shoe had been designed to reflect Wolsey’s “less is more,” aesthetic.
