MOVING UP: The Paris-based men’s wear designer Woo Youngmi has named her daughter Katie Chung to the role of joint creative director of the Wooyoungmi brand, starting with spring-summer 2015 season. After getting her BA at London’s Central St Martins, Chung joined the business as art director, and has played a crucial role there, the company said. “In a new era of global expansion, Katie brings a vibrant, progressive, and innovative approach to the creative vision,” the company said. The company has also changed its branding and is now using the three letters — WYM. “This symbol is a visual representation of the global expansion of the brand, as well as of the synergy of the new creative partnership,” the company’s statement said. It will officially launch across all collections, branding material, and retail spaces from spring-summer 2015.
