World Cup Trophy Travels With Louis Vuitton

Gisele Bündchen, Carles Puyol carry trophy onto pitch.

TRUNK SHOW: Gisele Bündchen and the Spanish former soccer star Carles Puyol took to the pitch of the Maracaña Stadium in Brazil on Sunday night, carrying the FIFA World Cup trophy in a bespoke Louis Vuitton trunk. Brazil native Bündchen, who was clad in a thigh-skimming belted blue dress from the Louis Vuitton 2015 cruise collection, placed the trophy on display before the start of the final match, which ended with Germany beating Argentina 1-0. Later this week, the gold trophy and the Vuitton trunk will leave Brazil for Germany, where it will remain until the next World Cup, which will take place in 2018 in Russia.

“It was a great honor to represent my country and the people of Brazil in this celebration carrying the LV FIFA Trophy Case,” said Gisele Bündchen. “It’s beautiful to see how sport has the power to bring the world together. I am so grateful to be part of this moment. Thank you all Brazilians who have welcomed the world with all their joy and loving spirit.”
