YAHOO’S LATE NIGHT: Yahoo is making sure it’ll get its fair share of the fashion spotlight around the Costume Institute’s annual gala May 4 at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. In addition to signing up as a sponsor of the event, the company is throwing an after party. And it’s all the way in New York’s Meatpacking District.
Chief executive officer Marissa Mayer, who is also one of the gala’s chairs, Yahoo Style editor Joe Zee, Sarah Jessica Parker and Katy Perry are taking over the Top of the Standard, still fondly known as the Boom Boom Room, for the occasion. The venue has been the site of many a Met gala after party, including the infamous fracas last year involving Jay Z and Solange Knowles. Zee said the company wanted to “celebrate everyone’s hard work by continuing the fun night with a toast.”
