YIGAL TAKES L.A.: Los Angeles may not have a true fashion week, but the late fall calendar is certainly full of designers taking their shows on the road (Nina Ricci’s Peter Copping, J.Mendel’s Gilles Mendel and Lanvin’s Alber Elbaz to name a few). Yigal Azrouël did so Wednesday night as the main attraction at Rochelle Gores Fredston’s Second Annual Autumn Party, benefiting her Philanthropic Society Los Angeles. Gores Fredston, who must have learned from her financier father, Alec Gores, that time is money, made sure the spring 2012 runway show started promptly, at least by Los Angeles standards. Attendees included Amy Smart, Nicole Richie, Lauren Conrad, Estella Warren, Amanda Righetti, Hilary Tisch and Kelly Patricoff, as well as her ex-stepmom Hedi Gores. After the show, which took place in a tent on the rooftop of the The London Hotel, the crowd migrated to the pool patio for sushi and mini cheeseburgers. “I love Los Angeles, because it’s so laid-back, and I love to surf in Malibu,” said Azrouël. Gores Fredston wrapped herself in a J.Mendel fur vest to ward off L.A.’s nighttime chill (The Gores Group owns the brand). “Better keep it all in the family,” she said.
