Yiqing Yin Said Headed to Leonard

The French fashion label has separated from creative director Raffaele Borriello.

CHANGING OF THE GUARD: Yiqing Yin is poised to take over as creative director at French fashion label Leonard following the departure of Raffaele Borriello after three seasons at the house, according to market sources. A spokeswoman for Leonard said Borriello’s final day at the label was Monday, when he presented his last women’s ready-to-wear collection. However, she added that his successor had not yet been chosen. Yin has garnered plaudits for her intricately pleated couture creations and made headlines by dressing Audrey Tautou for the opening ceremony of the Cannes Film Festival in May.

Leonard has seen a revolving door of designers since the departure in 2011 of Véronique Leroy after eight years at the helm. She was replaced by Maxime Simoens, who lasted just one season at the house.
