SUNDAY SCHOOL: As a devotee of Charles James’ talent, Zac Posen will discuss the late designer at The Metropolitan Museum of Art Sunday with curator Jan Glier Reeder. Their afternoon chat will delve into James’ glamour, technique and enduring impact on fashion, as well as his influence on Posen, who first discovered his work at the age of 15. Posen, whose gowns for Sarah Silverman and other guests at this year’s Met ball were inspired by James, will speak with Reeder about James’ draping, cut and rule breaking.
“Sunday at the Met Program — Glamour and Charles James with Zac Posen and Curator Jan Glier Reeder” is being held in conjunction with the Costume Institute exhibition, which runs through Aug. 10.
