Alexis Bittar has a new leading lady. The jewelry designer has tapped actress and musician Zoë Kravitz as the face of the brand’s fall ad campaign. “I have always admired Zoë’s strong and unique sense of self,” Bittar said. “I felt a con- nection and a kindred spirit in this girl, and knew I had to work with her. Her inner strength and individuality are so apparent and make the jewelry come alive.”

“I wore a choker of his during a shoot, and I became very attached to it,” Kravitz told WWD. Like Bittar’s previous campaigns — which have featured the likes of Joan Collins, Lauren Hutton, and most recently, Iris Arpel and Tavi Gevinson — the images feature a straight-on photo of Kravitz swathed in jewelry. “It was a really simple shoot. His ads are basically portraits, which is nice because in fashion there can be a lot going on and shoots can become very complicated. He lets the jewelry speak for itself.”

In one image, Kravitz dons a poodle-shaped pin in Lucite-and-crystal pavé on rhodium with 14-karat gold accents attached to a gold collar necklace. “What he does, and what I’m attracted to, is to combine a punk rock energy with very classic pieces,” she said. “You can really see two worlds colliding.”
