Venus et Jules

Proposing a cross-generational take on the loungewear category, France's Venus et Jules will present its debut collection at the Mode City event, comprising men's, women's and children's ranges.

Behind it are 40-year-old Delphine Lalande and 43-year-old Lionel Besiau, designers who formed a friendship working together at Naf Naf and Lee Cooper.

"It's about family classics with a modern, urban twist," said Lalande of the high-end line that retails from $80 for lace-trimmed boxer shorts to around $450 for a lightweight cotton knit bathrobe.

Made from silk and cashmere cotton blends, precious details include contrasting seams, cotton piping and mother-of-pearl buttons.

Custo Beachwear Barcelona

Italian knitwear company, Fuzzi, owner of the Fuzzi, Fiume and Nanibon labels, and licensee for the Pier Antonio Gaspari, Jean Paul Gaultier Soleil and Jean Paul Gaultier Maillenames, will present the first fruits of its new Custo Beachwear Barcelona license at Mode City.

Utilizing the punchy prints synonymous with the Spanish brand, the splashy moderate-priced range comprises 30 swimsuit styles, as well as 40 beach garment and accessories designs such as sarongs, kimonos and T-shirts of Lycra spandex. Fabrics include shaved cottons, habutai silk, silk satin and cotton voile.
