NEW YORK — The man in charge of Tibi, Frank Smilovic, is launching a new desk-to-dinner contemporary apparel line.
The line, called 4.collective, is slated to be the connection between the contemporary and bridge categories. The New York City-based company said the new collection targets the professional woman on-the-go in her 20s and 30s, who wants stylish work and on-trend evening apparel that makes her feminine and confident at the same time.
In a break from tradition in an industry that typically showcases the designer, the four designers behind the collection — with backgrounds in contemporary and luxury fashion — will remain anonymous.
The collection is set to launch in spring 2013, featuring dresses in Italian fabrics at price points between $275 and $335.
Smilovic, president of fashion firm Tibi, is the investor backing 4.collective. He’s also using the leveraging the infrastructure built at Tibi for the new line: a 20,000 square-foot warehouse facility in Georgia; technical design expertise and finance and human resource capabilities.
