G-III Apparel Group Ltd. signed a multiyear license agreement with PVH Corp., whereby PVH will once again design, market and distribute better men’s sportswear under the G.H. Bass & Co. brand. The line will be geared to department stores in North America and is set to launch for fall.
The move is a return of sorts for the brand, which PVH sold to G-III for about $50 million in cash in November. Morris Goldfarb, chairman, chief executive officer and president of G-III, said PVH had “market-leading expertise in men’s sportswear, deep knowledge and experience with respect to the G.H. Bass brand, and excellent customer relationships with department stores. We believe a strong men’s sportswear line will support our efforts as we reposition the brand to embrace its casual, outdoor-inspired identity.”
