NEW YORK — Sammy Aaron has been named chief executive officer of G-III Apparel Group Ltd.’s Calvin Klein business.

He continues as vice chairman of G-III and a member of the company’s board.

Aaron has been with G-III since the acquisition of his own company, J. Percy for Marvin Richards Ltd., by G-III in 2005. By buying J. Percy for Marvin Richards, G-III picked up licenses for Calvin Klein women’s and men’s coats. During Aaron’s tenure, G-III’s Calvin Klein business has expanded to eight apparel categories, all of which are licensed from Phillips-Van Heusen Corp. Besides women’s and men’s coats, G-III’s Calvin Klein businesses consist of sportswear, dresses, suits, performance wear, handbags, cold-weather accessories and luggage.

Aaron continues to report to Morris Goldfarb, ceo of G-III, the $1.06 billion diversified apparel and accessories firm.

In an interview last year, Goldfarb told WWD: “There isn’t a piece of the Calvin Klein business that’s not doing well.” G-III is among the three top Calvin Klein licensees, the other two being Warnaco Group, which does Calvin Klein Jeans and Underwear, and Coty Inc., the fragrance licensee.
