AUSTIN, Tex. — South by Southwest, aka SXSW, hit a few high notes.
Heralded as pop’s next big thing, Kimbra, a 21-year-old singer-songwriter from New Zealand, shook a red tambourine to jazzy singles from her debut album, “Vows.” Just as Amy Winehouse mined the past, Kimbra’s retro, ruffled get-ups had a Grand Ole Opry-meets-flamenco feel.
Peter Kim's Los Angeles-based premium denim line has always had its finger on the pulse of youth. This season, novelty is back in a way reminiscent of early Aughts, with studs, lace-ups, racing waxed denim and more.
