She’s on a roll. Anna Sui successfully reinvented her look for fallwith a lineup that drew on various Sixties inspirations, including LaLiz, whose glamorous lifestyle made a huge impression on Sui. Herresulting collection had an artsy, brainy slant — hold the caftans! —right down to the eyewear. Colors came in fuchsia, orange, turquoise andlime, with a slew of great plaid coats that were adorable paired withMod-ish shift dresses and skirts. Prints in cherries, florals, blocks,love letters and clocks made frocks and tops look playful, whilecocktail numbers in gold checkerboard or satin dot jacquards had justthe right dose of retro. Some of it was shown with the accessories Suidesigned with Coach, a seamless addition to the fun lineup.
Etro’s show, titled “The Tree of Life,” was a celebration of the house’s 50th anniversary. “My father founded the company in 1968, which was the year of counterculture and psychedelia.
