There was a uniform approach to the spring Marc by Marc Jacobscollection, not only because the men’s mimicked the women’s clothes, butit was largely about suits. There were jumpsuits, playsuits andtraditional suits — all in a relaxed fit and styled with T-shirts andsneakers for an Ellen DeGeneres moment.

The tailoring was cooland casual for both sexes. Pastel cotton linen twill pants and jacketschanneled a summer ease, and outerwear — such as his ’n hers browncotton twill jackets — was an instant outfit-maker.

With thelaid-back classics covered, Jacobs went into novelty mode with sequinsand satin worked with a Fifties flavor. The sequins shone on two easydresses, one shift, one midlength with a loose cut.

The satinwas more kitschy and youthful, worked in flame and sparkly star patternsfor the gals and bombers and satin-lapeled tux jackets for the guys.
