Nicole Miller called her collection Batteries Not Included — awell-picked title, since there was hardly a need for extra wattage inthis high-strung outing. The designer played with a series of contrasts:good girl versus bad (there’s always that biker chick she can’tsuppress), high-tech digital versus nature, and op art and surrealismwith a touch of Eighties — a decade she often favors. That led to avariety of clashing patterns, textures and shapes. Miller teamed abrocadelike metallic lace jacket with a peplum shirt and floral-printjeans, and a dress was done in a botanical pattern and pixilatedbar-code combo. Often, the mix provided sensory overload, though it didgive the audience a jolt after a long day of shows.
