ATLANTA — Men’s wear designer Ralph Dunning and his company, Dunning Sportswear, have launched Dunning Classic, a country-club driven premium sportswear collection with silhouettes, colors and fabrics fueled by his company’s golf heritage.

The spring 2009 collection, which will be at MAGIC, retails from $40 for accessories to $200 for an extra fine merino wool V-neck sweater. It also includes cotton pique polo shirts retailing for $100, performance wovens, a Pima cotton zip-neck pullover, vintage varsity tops and traditional rugby polos. Bottoms include seersucker pants and tattersall shorts, both in a cotton/Coolmax blend. Sizes range from extra small to 2XL in tops and from 30 to 42 inches in bottoms.

Dunning Classic, made almost entirely in Canada, will be sold to a focused, high-end distribution network that includes leading men’s wear shops, major retailers and Dunning’s existing network of country club and resort accounts. It will begin shipping in November.

Dunning Sportswear, based in Markham, Ontario, also makes and markets Dunning Golf.
