The classically appealing St. John resort collection, inspired by Slim Aarons' iconic society photographs, features sophisticated knit suits accented with ruffles, beading and flower appliqués along with belted, knee-length shirtdresses in patterned knits. "This is our new vision of nautical, with a fresh and graphic twist," says firm chief executive officer Glenn McMahon, referring to the black-piped white jacket worn over white shorts. The slim, leopard-patterned dress is also particularly pretty. According to George Sharp, the new executive vice president for design, this collection is "indicative of the new direction St. John is heading in — effortless chic, with dresses that feel like T-shirts on."
