LONDON — February may be the shortest month of the year, but Stella McCartney will be making the most of it.
The designer has a string of London-based events planned — including a runway show and a store opening — for February, WWD has learned. An announcement is expected today.
On Feb. 18, McCartney will unveil a one-off capsule collection during a presentation at London Fashion Week. The event is a nod to the 2012 London Olympics.
As reported, McCartney is creative director for Adidas Team GB: She has designed the uniforms for Britain’s athletes, as well as items for local Olympics fans.
The one-off collection will be available through the designer’s stores, stellamccartney.com and select wholesale accounts worldwide in May. McCartney’s fall collection will be shown, as scheduled, on March 5 in Paris.
McCartney also plans to open a second London unit in South Kensington. The store, which will be located at the Brompton Cross end of Fulham Road, will have a separate Stella McCartney Kids shop and will open during the second week of February.
The designer also plans to celebrate the “World of Stella” at Selfridges on Oxford Street from Jan. 26 to Feb. 14. That event will include a fragrance launch and her ready-to-wear, accessories, kids, lingerie, sunglasses and Adidas by Stella McCartney collections.
Alberta Ferretti's "Rainbow Week" sweaters are back. The designer closed her #MFW show with a few day-of-the-week sweaters, which first debuted on the catwalk last January as part of the pre-fall 2017 collection. #wwdfashion (📷: @delphineachard)
