Julian Neale based his fall Rena Lange collection on what he calls “a uniform” — the core pieces in a woman’s wardrobe. Inspired by the somber beauty of Edward Steichen’s photographs, Neale played with soft geometric prints, baked sequins and blurry rose patterns, offering romantic touches in a nonprecious way. For day, Neale returned to true sportswear, offering plenty of slim trousers, chic coats and cozy cardigans with a crafty homespun feel.
