LONDON — The London-based men’s wear designer Jsen Wintle is the latest name to collaborate with British retailer Marks & Spencer.

The company said Friday that Wintle will design a fall capsule collection for the retailer’s higher-end Autograph line, called Autograph by Jsen Wintle, which will include pieces such as chunky cable knit sweaters, wool pea coats and leather biker jackets. Prices for the line, which will launch at selected M&S stores in mid-September, range from 19.50 pounds, or $31.50, for a knit scarf through to 225 pounds, or $364, for a leather jacket.

And to coincide with the M&S collection’s launch, Wintle will also show his eponymous mainline collection for spring 2010 as part of London Fashion Week in September. He’d previously shown his line, which is backed by Evgeny Lebedev, the son of Russian billionaire and owner of London’s Evening Standard Alexander Lebedev, in Paris.

“M&S is famed for its great quality and craftsmanship, both values [that] are very important to me…so this has been a very natural collaboration,” said Wintle. Designers Zandra Rhodes and Patricia Field have both recently collaborated with M&S, which is Britain’s largest apparel retailer.
