MILAN — It’s not every day Madonna fans are given the chance to “get into the groove” for one of her videos — but that’s exactly what happened at the Dolce & Gabbana Metropole theater here recently when the singer filmed parts of “Celebration,” the lead single of her greatest hits double CD set for a September release.
Fashion stylists working for Madonna judged the outfits, looks and memorabilia of 30 people selected from photos sent via e-mail — then sent five of them home.

The remaining 25 showed their talent by hitting the dance floor, in the beginning all together and later with individual exhibitions in front of a white screen. The getups were of the funky and offbeat variety, mostly channeling Eighties Madonna, à la “Like a Virgin,” and more recent hits such as “She’s Not Me” and “Hung Up.” Printed Madonna T-shirts were the leading choice, worn with everything from jeans to red HotPants to lace leggings.
Once finished, the video will be made up of scenes of Madonna dancing intercut with shots of her fans dancing in Milan and Barcelona.
