This season, events at Shanghai Fashion Week were divided between the cluster of Colonial-era town houses and shopping malls at Xintiandi, where the main catwalk shows take place, the historic Bund riverside district for brand presentations at Labelhood and venues such as Central Studios.

Biker jackets — mainly in black — and the occasional biker vest were the dominant trends among Shanghai’s fashion crowd. Looser shapes with elongated sleeves were also evident this season, as were long, loose ribbons and tassels. Denim still proved omnipresent, while old-school sneakers, generally in white, were the most popular footwear, with fewer stilettos and a trend toward ankle-length boots.
