NEW YORK — Elie Tahari Ltd. is adding another layer, courtesy of an outerwear licensing deal with S. Rothschild & Co.
The firm will be the exclusive manufacturer of coats and jackets under the Elie Tahari and Tahari labels. The collections will bow in stores this fall and will be shown this month at the Rothschild & Co. showroom at 500 Seventh Avenue here.
"Rothschild & Co. shares our philosophy of beautiful tailoring with true attention to detail and fabrication," Elie Tahari, chairman and chief executive officer, said in a statement.
Known for its signature children's coats, Rothschild & Co. also owns the Larry Levine outerwear label and licenses DKNY, Via Spiga, LEI and Mackintosh coats. "With the addition of these two labels, we look forward to further diversifying our growing collection of successful brands," company president Mark Friedman said in a statement.
Elie Tahari outerwear will be featured in the collection's fall advertising campaign, a company spokeswoman said. Rothschild & Co. has hired Andrea Victor to design Elie Tahari and Tahari outerwear.

"It's really hard sometimes. I think I have a reputation for being really tough and aggressive and pushy but I really am a very shy person who wants to be liked, and that's the conflict constantly. There's something that takes hold - I want people to like me, I don't want to be mean - but if I see something that just cries out to be answered, I go for it," says renowned NBC News correspondent Andrea Mitchell.
