ATA FILES SUIT: The American Trucking Associations filed suit on Monday in California challenging the proposed “concession plans” to the Clean Trucks Program being introduced at the ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach. According to the ATA, the plans involve “intrusive regulatory systems [that] will result in far fewer trucking companies being able to service the ports, reducing competition.” Bill Graves, president and chief executive officer of the ATA, said the association supports the ports’ clean-air initiatives, but believes the concession plans establish an “intrusive and unnecessary regulatory structure.”
The Port of Long Beach said it would continue the scheduled implementation of the Clean Trucks Program despite the lawsuit. “We have worked closely with the trucking and shipping industries to develop a workable program. It is disappointing that the ATA is seeking to impede this critical air-quality initiative,” said Richard D. Steinke, executive director of the Port of Long Beach. “Despite this litigation, we are still moving full-speed ahead toward our goal of reducing pollution from the truck fleet by 80 percent by 2012.”

It’s really a show that celebrates that and the paisley design of India and its origin,” said Veronica Etro. #wwdfashion #mfw #ss18 (📷: @delphineachard)
