NILIT MAKES ACQUISITION: Nilit, a manufacturer of nylon 6.6 polyamide fibers based in Migdal Ha’emek, Israel, has acquired the U.S. operations of Nylstar. The acquisition gives Nilit a nylon 6.6 plant in Martinsville, Va., and makes the company one of the world’s largest producers of the fiber. Nylstar president Basil B. Walker will become president of Nilit U.S., a new entity.
DOW INTRODUCES RE:FLEX4: Dow Fiber Solutions will introduce the latest innovation to its Dow XLA premium stretch fiber at this week’s Denim by Premiere Vision show in Paris. Dow XLA Re:Flex4 is a four-way stretch product that will target the premium denim market. The technology achieves the four-way stretch by putting stretch fiber in both the warp and weft of the fabric. It is also resistant to high-heat and chemical treatments.
