LONDON — Forty-nine emerging designers from across Asia, Australia, Europe, the Middle East and the U.S. have been chosen by 21 nominating bodies as nominees for the International Woolmark Prize for 2013/14.

The nominees include Sibling, Piece d’Anarchive, Norwegian Rain, Sara Coleman, Tabernacle Twins and Mattijs ven Bergen from Europe; Alani, Plotz and Tache from Asia; Liu Hon, Alistair Trung, Ellery and Kahlo from Australia; Alpana and Neeraj, Amit Aggawal and Dev r Nil from India and the Middle East; and Altuzarra, Creatures of the Wind, Ohne Titel and Timo Weiland from the U.S.

Throughout June and July, regional award events will be held in Milan, Hong Kong, Sydney and New York to select the finalists. During these events, the designers will present ideas for capsule collections made from Merino wool, including six technical sketches and one complete look to a panel of industry experts.
