A recent trip to Paris inspired Madewell’s creative team to cross-reference its American workwear roots with French je ne sais quoi for fall and holiday. The result is a mash-up of chunky knits, some shot with metallic yarns, lumberjack plaids, T-shirts adorned with chandelier pieces, and plenty of the label’s signature denim, available in just about every imaginable wash. “We’re obsessed with washing,” said Kin Lee, head of design for Madewell, noting that knits, leathers and loads of scarves were also put through the rinse for a gently worn finish on the eclectic but effortless lineup.
