GOOGLE STOCKS HIT $1,000: Google’s stock hit $1,000 for the first time after the company said third-quarter earnings jumped 36.5 percent to $2.97 billion as sales for the three months ended Sept. 30 increased 11.9 percent to $14.89 billion.

IN-STORE, ONLINE COORDINATION SEEN LACKING: A laser-like focus on e-commerce might be blinding some retailers to opportunities in their brick-and-mortar stores, including some created by the Internet, according to a study by A.T. Kearney.
EBAY OUTLOOK DISAPPOINTS: Internet giant eBay Inc.’s third-quarter sales rose 14 percent to $3.89 billion, but the company disappointed with its outlook. EBay projected fourth-quarter sales would rise to a range of $4.5 billion to $4.6 billion — less than the $4.64 billion that Wall Street anticipated.
E-COMMERCE IN CHINA: E-commerce sales in China might be growing, but the actual order submission rate is still just 10 percent, according to Mary Ransom, senior vice president at Borderfree, who gave a presentation on trends in the market.
REFINERY29 RAISES $20 MILLION: Refinery29 raised $20 million in Series C funding from the Stripes Group to help fuel its evolution. The funds will help it expand its content and programming in a range of areas such as health, fitness, home and news.
EDITORIALIST CLOSES SERIES A: The Editorialist, an eight-month-old content and commerce site, reeled in $2 million in Series A funding. The money will help the luxury accessories site, which is on track to turn a profit by early 2014, grow internationally.
NIKE UNVEILS NIKE+ FUELBAND SE: Nike Inc.’s vice president of digital sport Stefan Olander unveiled the Nike+ FuelBand SE as well as an updated Nike+ FuelBand app with a feature that allows users to form groups with their friends and easily share fuel data.
GIFTLAB PREPARING TO LAUNCH IN THE US: Carmen Busquets is gearing up for the U.S launch of Giftlab, the luxury e-commerce Web site she founded in the U.K. in November 2012. The site focuses on the art of highly personal gift-giving.
