Christopher Candland has been named president of Yigal Azrouël Inc., a new post.

He takes over some of the duties formerly handled by Donata Minelli, who resigned as chief executive officer of Azrouël in January. She has become a business consultant.
Most recently, Candland was vice president of finance and operations and acting chief financial officer of SMCP Group, where he launched the Sandro, Maje and Claudie Pierlot brands in the U.S. He was instrumental in opening 35 points of sale across the country, as well as two e-commerce sites. Earlier, he was chief operating officer at the Cynthia O’Connor showroom, where he oversaw 30 accessories and ready-to-wear brands including Botkier and Foley + Corinna. He has also served as global finance manager of Diane von Furstenberg Studio, L.P.
Yigal Azrouël launched his women’s wear label in 1998 and Cut25, a contemporary brand, in fall 2010.

Candland reports to Azrouël. “It is a very important time for both collections and I look forward to seeing out the true potential under Christopher’s leadership,” said Azrouël.
Azrouël opened his flagship boutique in February 2003 in New York’s Meatpacking District and in fall 2012 moved to 1011 Madison Avenue. Cut25’s flagship boutique opened in spring 2012 at 129 Grand Street in SoHo.
