The Underfashion Club raised $425,000 at the annual Femmy Awards gala last month at Cipriani on 42nd Street in Manhattan.

Walter Costello, president of the industry organization, said a budget is being completed from the proceeds for design student scholarships for the Fashion Institute of Technology and the High School of Fashion Industries. In 2009, the organization donated $154,000 for scholarships, he said.
The gala honorees were Macy’s, with Rob Smith, executive vice president and general merchandise manager of dresses, suits, coats, swimwear, children’s wear and intimates, accepting an award along with divisional merchandise manager of intimates Abigail Dais-James and Michael Hersh, general vice president and divisional planning manager of intimates; Felina Lingerie and president and chief executive officer Robert Zarabi, and Regina Miracle International and chairman, YY Hung. Receiving the Innovation Award was Bare Necessities and president and ceo Noah Wrubel. Gwen Widell, senior vice president of merchandising at Wacoal America Inc., accepted the Lifetime Achievement Award.
Cash prizes for a design student contest were sponsored by Regina Miracle and Stretchline. First prize winner Ecka Andersson received $4,000 for her Classic Beauty design. Second prize winner Kristen Racanati garnered $3,000 for her Daring to Darling creation, and third prize winner Alana Bauer got $2,100 for her Vixen de Nuit entry.
