Miss America by Catalina Tour to Launch at Wal-Mart

The swimwear line is inspired by the 2013 Lifestyle and Fitness competition, and select styles from the January 2013 telecast of the Miss America pageant.

Miss America 2013 Mallory Hagan on Saturday will kick off a two-month promotional tour for the Miss America by Catalina collection of swimwear sold exclusively at Wal-Mart.

The “On the Road With Miss America and the 2013 National Contestants” tour will include eight appearances by the crowned Miss America in New York, Arkansas and Florida, as well as 88 appearances by national contestants at 96 Wal-Mart stores. The campaign will commence with an appearance by Hagan at Wal-Mart’s Westbury and Farmingdale, N.Y. locations on Saturday.

Hagan and the national title-holders will promote the debut of the Miss America by Catalina collection, which launched in January following the return of Catalina as the official swimsuit sponsor of the 2013 Miss America competition. The campaign runs through June.

The swimwear line is inspired by the 2013 Lifestyle and Fitness competition, and select styles from the January 2013 telecast of the Miss America pageant. Catalina’s design inspiration for the collection combines retro glamour and modern styling in jewel-tone colors and embellishments.

Hagan said she was pleased the campaign will kick off in New York, which was her home as former Miss New York.

“The Miss America Organization and Catalina share a wonderful history, and now, as Catalina launches this beautiful collection, we bring these two iconic brands together to have one incredible collection every woman throughout the country can afford and enjoy,” said Hagan.

The swimwear will retail for $15.96 per piece.

Zvi Ben-Haim, president of In Mocean Group LLC, which owns the Catalina brand, described Hagan and the state title holders as “Catalina’s brand ambassadors.

“The Miss America by Catalina collection is a culmination of the rich history between Catalina and the Miss America Organization, dating back to the 1940s,” said Ben-Haim.

The campaign will coincide with Catalina’s print advertising campaign in the June issues of Cosmopolitan and People StyleWatch magazines.
