Nautica Raises $1M for Charity

The retail chain partnered with Charity: Water to provide drinking water for 20,000 people.

NEW YORK — Nautica, the brand known for its aquatic sensibilities, is going back to its roots and doing good. The lifestyle brand raised $1 million for charity through its Give Change to Make Change campaign that will provide clean, safe drinking water to several water projects in Nepal, India, Ethiopia and Malawi.

The initiative, partnering alongside the organization Charity: Water, asked Nautica customers to round up their purchases to the nearest dollar at all retail stores and online at nautica.com.

“Nautica is proud to support Charity: Water and its powerful mission to help people around the world by providing clean and safe drinking water to people in developing nations. This is a big accomplishment and we are so thankful and proud of our consumers for supporting these efforts,” said Karen Murray, president of Nautica.

“We’ve been very impressed with the passion and drive of the Nautica team to help make this campaign a huge success,” said Scott Harrison, founder and chief executive officer of Charity: Water. “The water crisis is vast and it’s going to take a huge effort from all of us to help the 800 million people currently living without clean water. Nautica’s generous donation will help make a meaningful difference.”

The funds will aid a variety of water projects and initiatives in the countries and will provide clean water to more than 20,000 individuals through special water-filtration systems, new drill wells and tap stands.
