PVH Corp. has signed a licensing agreement with American Essentials Inc. and its parent company, McGregor Industries Inc., to market and distribute socks for men, women and children, as well as tights for women and girls, bearing the Izod name.
Ontario-based McGregor Industries will produce dress, casual and sport socks as well as legwear, while its U.S. subsidiary American Essentials will market and sell the collections to major department and specialty stores throughout the United States, Canada and Mexico.
The lines will be launched at J.C. Penney in June, and later expanded to additional retail channels said Kirstin Schena, vice president of licensing for Izod.
A price range was not yet available.
In other developments, PVH has signed a licensing deal with Bon Bini LLC/Stepping Stones to manufacture, market and distribute the first line of socks and hosiery for newborns, infants and toddlers bearing the Izod brand. The product will be distributed at department and specialty stores in the United States and Canada.
“We thought the brand’s colorful and fun image would translate well to hosiery for infants and toddlers,” said Ken Wyse, president of licensing for PVH Corp.
A first-year wholesale sales projection was not available, but the combined lines could generate more than $30 million the first year, according to industry estimates.
