The contemporary designer is launching legwear for fall. The company, which has had a hosiery license in Japan since 2000, has created a capsule collection of legwear with bursts of crystal in colors such as stormy lilac, midnight and olive. More than 2,800 Crystallized-Swarovski Elements are applied to each pair for an opulent and sprightly look. The tights made their debut on Taylor’s fall 2010 runway.
“Rebecca’s obsessive eye to detail and love of all things sparkle have inspired her to create an opulent legwear collection that offers urban femininity with a luxe quality,” said brand chief executive officer Beth Bugdaycay. “The tights for fall 2010 embody the modern, downtown-cool aesthetic of our collection and the Rebecca Taylor girl.”
The hose will retail for $250 starting in July at Rebecca Taylor in New York as well as on the company’s Web site, rebeccataylor.com. There is already a waiting list for them.
Taylor is growing her retail business, as well, and this month opened a 2,000-square-foot flagship at Hong Kong’s Harbour City Mall. She plans to launch a flagship in Tokyo’s Ginza district next year.
