Dsquared2 is gearing up for its launch in the children’s wear arena.
The Milan-based brand has signed a five-year licensing agreement with Brave Kid, the children’s wear manufacturer under Renzo Rosso’s Only the Brave Group umbrella, for the production and distribution of Dsquared2’s first junior line.
The entry, which will be designed by the brand’s creative directors, Dean and Dan Caten, and which will include apparel and accessories for boys and girls from newborn to 14 years old, will launch with the spring 2014 collection.
Footwear will be produced and distributed by Andrea Montelpare, a manufacturer based in Fermo, Italy.
In keeping with the brand’s aesthetics, the Dsquared2 children’s wear line will feature playful pieces with the label’s signatures, such as the Canadian red maple leaf.
“Our customers have grown with us and we have accompanied many of them to the altar. Now their children are also in need of cool and fun outfits,” the Caten brothers said. “With this junior line, we are finally…creating a total look for the entire family.”
“Dean and Dan have a unique lifestyle brand that is fully coherent, consistent and recognizable,” said Rosso. “This new license is an important asset for Brave Kid, which continues to grow and flourish.”
Rosso’s Brave Kid division also produces the John Galliano and Diesel children’s lines.
The collection will be available at Dsquared2’s flagships in Milan, Paris and Tokyo, and at select department and specialty stores worldwide.
