NEW YORK — Norman Fass, a former apparel manufacturer, died June 12 in Hackensack Hospital Hospice in Hackensack, N.J. He was 80.

The cause of death was due to an accidental fall while visiting family here, according to a son, Michael.
Throughout his 60-year career in the manufacturing apparel industry, Fass owned and operated several companies producing women’s apparel, including Abby Michael, Bryant 9 and Parsons Place/Sag Harbor, one of the early U.S. marketers of the miniskirt, according to Michael Fass.
In addition to his son, Fass is survived by his wife, Elaine; two other sons, Peter and Steven; a daughter, Lisa Kleinman; three stepchildren, Lauren and Adam Ziffer and Marc Spital, and four grandchildren.
