Ed Emma Gets New Role at Jockey

He will step aside as president and chief operating officer on Dec. 14 and turn the reins over to Byron Norfleet.

Ed Emma, who has been with Jockey International Inc. for 21 years, will step aside as president and chief operating officer on Dec. 14 and turn the reins over to Byron Norfleet, who has been with the Wisconsin-based underwear giant since 2010.

Emma will take over the new role of consultant to the chief executive officer, Debra Waller, who is unaffected by the management change.

“Under Ed Emma’s leadership, Jockey experienced a period of remarkable growth and expansion,” Waller said. “He is leaving behind a rich legacy, and we are deeply thankful for his extraordinary stewardship of the Jockey brand. As we look to the future, we are fortunate to have an exceptionally skilled and experienced leader in Byron Norfleet. He possesses the vision, expertise and strategic focus to ensure Jockey’s continued success in the years ahead.”

Norfleet is currently president of North America wholesale and licensing and was responsible for the Coopers by Jockey launch at Nordstrom, Jockey’s shapewear collaboration with Yummie Tummie and the JKY by Jockey collection at Target. Prior to joining the company, he was with PMI, Brown Shoe Co.

Emma is credited with expanding Jockey throughout North America and internationally, launching new channels with jockey.com and the Jockey catalog and partnering with quarterback Tim Tebow. He will continue to serve on the company’s board of directors.
