Maidenform Inc. has named Heather Harris vice president and general manager of its licensed Donna Karan Intimates division.
She reports to Patricia J. Royak, senior vice president and managing director of international business for Donna Karan Intimates and DKNY Underwear. Harris succeeds Robert Gardner, who joined Dana-co as vice president of global sales.
In her new role, Harris will lead the Donna Karan and DKNY intimates businesses domestically and internationally.
Harris, who has more than 15 years in the retail and wholesale industries, began her career as an assistant buyer at Bloomingdale’s in 1977, and has since worked in a variety of executive positions. She most recently served as vice president of sales for the Calvin Klein Jeans division for women at Warnaco Group Inc. for the past year. In 2010, she was vice president for the Chaps men’s brand at Warnaco. Before that, she was national account manager for Playtex and the licensed Ralph Lauren intimates brand at Sara Lee Intimate Apparel, from 1999 to 2002. She also served in various sales roles at the Jones Group and Liz Claiborne Inc.
Maurice Reznik, chief executive officer of Maidenform, said, “Heather brings a wealth of experience to this position, and her background in intimate apparel, as well as proven ability to drive top-line sales and bottom-line profit, will benefit us tremendously as we pursue growth opportunities for the Donna Karan and DKNY brands.”
“Heather was at Izod handbags when I first met her. She made an impression and when there was an opportunity to hire someone who had impressed me in the past, I had our recruitment team find out where she was. She’s great,” said Macolm Robinson, president of Maidenform.
