William Nictakis to Exit Hanesbrands

Former president and co-chief operating officer of the company will leave in July.

William Nictakis, chief commercial officer for international businesses and global retailers at Hanesbrands Inc., will leave the company in July.

Hanesbrands disclosed that he had “terminated his employment with the company” and would receive severance payments.

Nictakis was named to his most recent position in August following nearly two years as co-chief operating officer and president for the U.S. For three years prior to that, he served as president and chief commercial officer of the company.

Nictakis had shared the title of chief operating officer with Gerald Evans until Evans was named chief operating officer and Nictakis to his most recent post last June. Nictakis had reported to Evans since that time.

He was president of the Sara Lee Bakery Group following four years as vice president of sales at Frito-Lay Inc. Hanesbrands was spun off from Sara Lee Corp. in 2006. Sara Lee spun off Coach Inc. in 2000.

After Nictakis’ departure, his duties will be split among Evans and the presidents of the company’s activewear and innerwear divisions.

The departure was reported in a Form 8-K filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
