NEW YORK — Mark Mendelson, who has served as a consultant to LF USA, spearheading the Ellen Tracy, Marilyn Monroe and Adrienne Vittadini women’s apparel businesses, is leaving the company.

Mendelson couldn’t be reached for comment Wednesday on his future. He plans to work through the spring market and will leave sometime in September, said sources. A spokesman said LF USA does not comment on personnel-related matters.
Ellen Tracy, which is now owned by Sequential Brands Group, has an exclusive strategic alliance with Macy’s Inc., where the women’s better sportswear brand is sold exclusively. The women’s sportswear is licensed to LF USA.
The Marilyn Monroe collection, which was launched exclusively at Macy’s last March, was created in partnership with LF USA and Authentic Brands Group. Authentic Brands Group, in conjunction with NECA, a global media and entertainment company, acquired the intellectual property of Marilyn Monroe LLC in 2011. The Monroe collection is targeted to 16- to 22-year-old women and is merchandised on the juniors floor.
Vittadini, which is also owned by Authentic Brands Group, licenses the women’s apparel to LF USA.
Prior to joining Ellen Tracy in 2008, Mendelson was with Ann Taylor, where he headed the New Concept division. Earlier, he was chief merchandising officer for all better apparel brands at the Jones Apparel Group. He has also held senior sales and marketing posts for Leon Max and Laundry by Shelli Segal, and has been president of Elie Tahari.
